Bridge collapses at Andheri, Trains affected
Office goers faced difficulties as Western Railway (WR) trains came standstill as a bridge collapsed near Andheri station. A part of the bridge collapsed near Andheri West, and four fire brigade vehicles have been rushed to the spot. More details awaited.
Andheri Bridge Collapse: 5 Injured to Get 1 Lakh Compensation Each:
A part of the Gokhale bridge in Mumbai’s Andheri collapsed on Tuesday, 3 July, disrupting the local train services in the city. The bridge connects Andheri East to Andheri West.

- Union Minister for Railways Piyush Goyal is expected to visit the site shortly
Railway Minister while addressing the media called the bridge collapse an unfortunate incident and said that Commissioner of Rail Safety will give report on the mishap in 15 days.
“Its an unfortunate incident, I have ordered an inquiry into this. Commissioner of Rail Safety will give report in 15 days,” said Goyal.
Goyal also announced an ad hoc compensation of Rs 1 lakh for the victims stating that their treatment expenses will be taken care of by Railways.
Western Railways clarified that restoration of over head electrical and tracks near Andheri have been undertaken extensively.
Harbour lines along the Andheri-Vile Parle section are expected to be open by 2 pm.
On the other hand, Central Railway has tweeted that, “Trains on Central Railway’s main, harbour and trans-harbour lines are running normally… Please don’t believe in rumours.”
