Xiaomi launched its latest offering, Redmi 6 Pro, in China on Sunday evening. The budget device is the first from Redmi’s line-up which sports the iPhone X-type notch display.
The Redmi 6 Pro is priced at CNY 999 for the 3GB RAM variant, CNY 1,199 for the 4GB RAM + 32GB storage variant and CNY 1,299 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. It will be available in China starting from June 26 in Rose Gold, Gold, Blue, Black and Red colors.
Processor: Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor clubbed with Adreno 506 GPU.
RAM: 3GB and 4GB.
Internal storage: While the 3GB RAM version will ship with 32GB storage, the 4GB RAM version will come with 32 GB and 64GB storage. Expandable storage of up to 256GB via a dedicated micro-SD card slot.
Screen: The Redmi 6 Pro comes with a 5.84-inch 1080p+ display with a 2280×1080 pixel resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio and 432ppi pixel density.
Rear camera: The Redmi 6 Pro comes with a dual rear camera system. The dual camera module on the back comes with one 12-megapixel sensor (f/2.2) and another 5-megapixel sensor. The dual camera setup is further assisted by PDAF and LED flash. And, it comes with lots and lots of artificial intelligence.
Front camera: 5-megapixel camera with Portrait mode feature and AI face unlock.
Software: The Redmi 6 Pro runs Android Oreo-based MIUI 9.
Battery: The Redmi 6 Pro is backed by a 4,000mAh battery, and charges over standard micro-USB.
The Redmi 6 Pro is a gradual extension of the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A phones that Xiaomi launched only recently. While the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A phones are powered by MediaTek-based processors, the Redmi 6 Pro comes with a Qualcomm chip. Xiaomi, in theory, can’t bring the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A to India for the following reason. But, it can bring the Redmi 6 Pro, to India.
